About this place
Would you like whisky poured over your old-fashioned pudding à la mode? That little twist makes for a distinctive dessert choice at Dope Nakano. The “Regular Pudding à la Mode,” with firm pudding and fruit, costs ¥1,050. One diner described a satisfyingly firm pudding served with banana, yellow peach and ice cream—a good choice if you’re after a classic café-style treat. For something more playful, the “Unpure Pudding à la Mode,” topped with whisky, is ¥1,100. Both offer the same kind of dessert, with a different note in each bite.
The parfaits also come in “Regular” and “Unpure” versions. The chocolate parfait costs ¥980 or ¥1,030, while the banana sundae is ¥1,030 or ¥1,080. It’s an easy choice between a classic sweet and one with a splash of whisky. One diner found the banana-and-ice-cream dessert generous enough to share, so you could order one for yourself or choose different dishes to enjoy together.
Cream sodas come in melon, strawberry, peach, grape and other flavours, all for ¥730. One diner chose melon and enjoyed it as a familiar classic; picking a colour and flavour is part of the fun. For a meal, options include Napolitan spaghetti, made with thick noodles and the aroma of browned ketchup, and a sandwich of rolled omelette with mustard mayonnaise. Napolitan, meat sauce spaghetti and omurice are available in sets with iced coffee, or with a highball.
